Special tests (e.g., certification, prototype testing) of thermometric fixed-point devices may be made by prior arrangement with the specified technical contacts. Fixed-point cells may be sent to NIST for certification by the method of direct comparison with the applicable NIST laboratory standard fixed-point cell.
